I write you this letter as an apology/ for the things I have done/ and the sides of me that you have never seen/ but more importantly the sides of you I saw/ that no one is supposed to see/ I know the face and more but do they really belong to the name that your parents gave you/ I know there’s something better for you/ and something better out there for me/ I don’t expect you to believe me/ I don’t expect you even to care
God gives us a lot of things/ a body for one and a mind for all/ and the choice to use them as we please/ and Oh we please/ so much so I’ve contracted it like a disease/ and as with most there is no cure/ just treatment without cease
But I’ll keep praying that when next we meet it’s under better terms/ and we’ll be wearing more than a liar’s grin and intentions for the night
