You've taken every mirror from your house For fear that you might see yourself; But introspection is the only reflection you're trying to avoid. I don't care what you might say against me; I know you're meant for so much more. But, I won't give up on you; No matter where you are, It's just one step back to me. You never go outside for fear of looking to the sun, Only to find that it's not there. We think that we know everything there is to know, But the greatest knowledge Is that we know nothing at all. I'm just as lost as you, But I have no fear As long as I remember just who I am. Before you go, I just wanted you to know: That I won't give up on you; No matter where you are, It's just one step back to me.

I’ve gone pale as a sheet From hanging around with your ghost In these same haunted places, I never have the sense to leave. What will be my excuse for not putting an end To always making excuses. You can keep running, But I won’t run to chase you or meet you half way; But I’ll always be here for when you’ve decided That you're tired of running. Do you feel as close as I do When I’m wrapped around your finger? I would steal, die, and kill for you, But I can’t let you steal the life away from me. You can keep running, But I won’t run to chase you or meet you half way; But I’ll always be here for when you’ve decided That you're tired of running (away).

How can we pull up the straps of boots that we cannot afford? Maybe I'll just put it on the card-- Or two--or three--or four. Then customize with your favorite metaphor-- "Under a mountain" or just "Bled dry". We're Broke-- I don't if we can be fixed; Who will put us back together again? 'Cause all the king's horses and all the king's men, Haven't done the things that they said they did. You call it "trickle-down", I call it making us drink downstream; Staying alive on all that you're pissing away; For taxes, keep the receipts. Write it off; file it away; As it collects dust next to white picket dreams. Struggling, struggling just to survive; Is this the way we have to spend most of our lives? Struggling, struggling just to survive; Demand to be treated as more than a supply. Can someone recognize, This isn't "getting by", When we daily analyze if we eat tonight?

Rejoice! The new messiah is in pill form, And they're ready to March right down your throat. We've got something for everything that ails you, And stuff for even if you think you don't; We all could use a healthy bank account transfusion. What good are customers When you can have indentured servants? Let's all get medicated in any way that you know how; Don't you dare get creative, Without your doctor telling you how. Rub a little salvation in your eyes; Let it seep into your brain; Trade up from blindness to tunnel vision. Build up the monsters inside, So the ones on the outside can be contained. There is nothing wrong with me. There is nothing wrong with me. There is everything wrong with me.

I write you this letter as an apology/ for the things I have done/ and the sides of me that you have never seen/ but more importantly the sides of you I saw/ that no one is supposed to see/ I know the face and more but do they really belong to the name that your parents gave you/ I know there’s something better for you/ and something better out there for me/ I don’t expect you to believe me/ I don’t expect you even to care God gives us a lot of things/ a body for one and a mind for all/ and the choice to use them as we please/ and Oh we please/ so much so I’ve contracted it like a disease/ and as with most there is no cure/ just treatment without cease But I’ll keep praying that when next we meet it’s under better terms/ and we’ll be wearing more than a liar’s grin and intentions for the night

about

2019 Smith7 Records/ Krebstar Recordings

Recorded when time allowed between 2018 and July 2019 at The Iceberg Lounge in Tacoma, WA. Many of these songs have been around since past bands, but never were recorded.

They are meant to be fairly raw demos, but also suffer from the tinkering and perfectionism of the artist.
